Code of Conduct


Anthony Crean is a self-employed, independent barrister whose practice is governed by the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales. He is registered with The Bar Standards Board and is fully insured with the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund to provide legal services; please refer to the BMIF website for full details of the world-wide cover provided. In accordance with the Bar Standards Board's Code of Conduct, Anthony commits to the ten core duties:


  1. Observe his duty to the court in the administration of justice [CD1].

  2. Act in the best interests of each client [CD2].

  3. Act with honesty, and with integrity [CD3].

  4. Maintain his independence [CD4].

  5. Not behave in a way which is likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in him or in the profession [CD5].

  6. Keep the affairs of each client confidential [CD6].

  7. Provide a competent standard of work and service to each client [CD7]

  8. Not discriminate unlawfully against any person [CD8].

  9. Be open and co-operative with his regulators [CD9].

  10. Take reasonable steps to manage his practice, or carry out your role within his practice, competently and in such a way as to achieve compliance with his legal and regulatory obligations [CD10].
